You can sit on the train and put your headphones on, like most do, or you can choose to be part of that journey. You might meet someone that catches your eye; but you never say that simple word, ‘hi’ and the moments lost forever. Or you may decide to speak to that individual and they end up being the best thing that ever happened to you.

I think that’s what I found in Sarah and I owe this blog to her.

Sarah owns Rare Pear’ with her husband, Ben. Rare Pear is not just a shoe or leather good, it’s a journey and an ethos where the finest craftsmanship and creativity happens under one roof, in Devon. Ben and Sarah’s journey is truly unique and rather beautiful; I would really encourage you to read how they together have built their brand and made a beautiful life for their family at the same time.

As Sarah and I got to know each other I asked her for her opinion on starting a blog on my website. A blog about me as the person behind the brand. I have never been one to really share who I am to the entire world as it makes me feel quite vulnerable; now it’s what I love about it. I am vulnerable. We all are. There is beauty in admitting you’re vulnerable because I do care what you think.

Sarah told me to just be myself. So that’s what I have done. Just like my gloves, I am individual, a little quirky and at the end of the day I’m also a skin wanting to be loved and fit someone’s hand perfectly into mine in this big scary world of ours.
